Behind the Code: Meet Adam L Miller
Learn more about the person behind the solutions. From a passion for problem-solving to a dedication to innovation, this page offers a glimpse into my journey, values, and what drives me to create impactful technology.

Hello, and welcome to my website! I’m Adam Miller—a Full Stack Engineer, DevOps Specialist, dedicated family man, and coach with a passion for youth development, BBQ, and adventure. My journey in technology and life is a story of curiosity, persistence, and a deep love for creating, both in the digital world and beyond.
The Spark of Curiosity
It all started when I was 12, the year my family got our first computer. Around the same time, we moved into our first brand-new home in Phoenix, AZ, and I started middle school. Making friends wasn’t easy at first, but I quickly bonded with a boy on my school bus who shared my budding interest in computers—his dad was a programmer at Motorola, and his influence would prove pivotal in shaping my future.
By high school, that shared passion led us to an opportunity that would change everything: enrollment in advanced computer networking classes typically reserved for juniors and seniors. After a nerve-wracking test, we earned our spots, diving headfirst into the exciting world of tech at just 14 years old.
Choosing Experience Over Theory
College wasn’t a feasible path for me due to financial constraints, so I chose to learn by doing. Starting with HTML, CSS, and PHP in high school, I built websites for LAN parties, sparking my love for development. By the time I graduated, I’d landed an entry-level developer role, which allowed me to learn on the job.
Soon, I pivoted toward my true passion: hardware. My first custom-built PC—a 486 Intel i486 66MHz with 32MB of memory and a 500MB hard drive—was a joint project with my middle school friend. We installed RedHat Linux 6.1 instead of Windows, a decision that opened doors to countless opportunities in my career.
Building a Career and a Family
High school also introduced me to Samantha, my wife and partner in life. We met in marching band, dated through high school, and reconnected shortly thereafter. We married in 2007, and together, we’ve built a life centered on family, adventure, and support for our three amazing daughters, born in 2009, 2011, and 2013.
Professionally, I’ve spent years honing my skills in Full Stack Engineering and DevOps. My proudest accomplishment? Architecting and building an AgTech platform for processing drone imagery to help make an impact on climate change while providing better more nutrient dense foods at a lower cost for the farmer and the consumer. Another one of my more meaningful accomplishments was the Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) environment for Iveda Solutions, hosting cutting-edge applications that supported IP surveillance cameras on a large scale.
Coaching, Softball, and Life Skills
Outside of tech, my greatest joy comes from coaching girls’ youth softball and watching my daughters excel in the sport. Coaching isn’t just about teaching the game—it’s about instilling confidence, teamwork, and life skills in young athletes. I’m passionate about helping these girls grow on and off the field, and the lessons I’ve learned as a coach often guide my professional life as well.
BBQ, Adventure, and the Great Outdoors
When I’m not working or coaching, you’ll find me with my family, exploring the country in our motorhome, off-roading in our Polaris RZR, or camping by a river, lake, or in the Arizona desert. I also love BBQ and cooking for friends and family, perfecting recipes and creating memories around the table.
Whether I’m fixing up a diesel truck, building woodwork projects, or crafting scalable tech solutions, I bring the same passion and dedication to every challenge. Thank you for stopping by, and I hope you enjoy learning more about my journey!
